Alternative hours are available for special situations when it is necessary to see patients outside of regular office hours. Saturday and Sunday morning appointment are available only for emergency care as needed. One of our medical providers are always on call for after-hours emergencies by calling: (614) 839-3040.
In a life-threatening situation, you should always go to the nearest hospital emergency room. If you have an acute medical problem that you believe is directly related to the condition for which we are treating you, the hospital should notify COPEDS of your arrival.
In other situations you should first call your family physician who will be able to best advise you what to do. If necessary, your primary care physician can contact us, 24 hours a day, by calling our office answering service at (614) 839-3040.
If you have an acute medical problem that you believe is directly related to the condition for which we are treating you, please call for an appointment. If the office is closed and your problem is such that it cannot wait until the next business day, our answering service at (614) 839-3040 will direct your call to one of the on call providers who will then call you back. If you do not hear from the provider within one hour, call again. In some situations the provider may need to meet you in the office.
Note that Dr. Zipf has admitting privileges at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Dr Dyer and Dr. Lozano have admitting privileges at St. Ann’s Hospital and Riverside Hospital. For patients who are admitted to other surrounding hospitals, we will be in touch with the medical staff there to ensure that your health care situation is communicated.
